WASTE SORTING, THE CRUCIAL STEP BEFORE RECYCLING
As there are more and more of us on our precious planet and we consume at a great pace, waste production continues to increase. It’s precisely to convert as much of our waste as possible into reusable materials that recycling gained momentum in the 1990’s. And sorting waste beforehand helps with the recycling process, because unsorted or contaminated materials might end up incinerated and will be lost permanently.
SAVING RESOURCES
By converting materials like plastic, paper and glass, we use what has already been made, and therefore avoid being wasteful. By giving a second life to our waste, we save natural resources in the soil and subsoil (such as oil) that are unfortunately exhaustible.
AVOIDING AN UNNECESSARY POLLUTION SOURCE
Recycling also means that you don’t create an additional pollution source and you save on energy. Extracting the natural resources that are needed to create those materials, transporting them and manufacturing them takes much more energy than converting them during the recycling process. Similarly, since these industrial activities are highly polluting, it is essential to limit them... by sorting waste.
We know it, now that you have more information, you will no doubt sort your waste enthusiastically!
